Nokia cuts staff by about 30%, close the project and refuses Ozo direction VR

Nokia issued a press release in which it stated that the company decided to focus on the segment of «digital health» (digital health), while «to optimize the cost of your virtual reality device».

With regard to the direction of virtual reality and panoramic video, Nokia reduces the corresponding costs, and also stops further development of new versions of Nokia camera OZO and other hardware solutions VR.


This should result in a reduction of about one third of the staff of the company, their jobs will lose 310 of 1090 employees in Finland, USA and UK.
