Motherboard MSI X299M-A Pro is only compatible with two processors

At MSI there is the second motherboard size microATX on the flagship chipset Intel X299. The first was X299M Gaming Pro Carbon AC, and the second was presented on the images X299M-A Pro.

Perhaps the most remarkable X299M-A Pro is compatible with processors: if X299M Gaming Pro Carbon AC works with any CPU LGA 2066, X299M-A Pro limited series CPUs Kaby Lake-X. That is, with this motherboard is compatible only two CPU: Core i7-7740X (4,3-4,5 GHz) and Core i5-7640X (4,0-4,2 GHz). Both of these CPU – Quad-core, and the youngest does not support multithreading. I would like to think that in the future Intel will introduce more CPU that is compatible with the new.

Channels DDR4 RAM only two, but claimed to support speeds in excess of 4500 MHz (overclocking, of course). For comparison, the maximum memory speeds for Gaming Pro Carbon X299M AC, according to the manufacturer, — 4133 MHz. The maximum amount of RAM X299M-A Pro – 64GB.

Novelty is equipped with three PCI Express x16 slots, two M. 2 and eight ports SATA 6 GB/s For traditional hard drives supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5 and 10 for SSD M. 2 – levels 0 and 1.

For the sound codec Realtek ALC1220 for wired network controller Intel I219-V Two port USB 3.1 Gen 2 (Type-A and Type-C) interface panel connected to the controller ASMedia ASM3142, the other to the chipset.
