MobileMedia Ideas won in a patent dispute with Apple
Company MobileMedia Ideas announced the decision of the court district of Delaware in a patent dispute between Apple and MobileMedia Ideas. The court concluded that Apple violated owned by MobileMedia Ideas patent, which describes «polite ignoring» (mute call on phone). A violation occurs in the Apple iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4. The court ordered the device maker to pay the patent owner $ 3 million in compensation of damages caused by the violation. The claim was not enabled smartphones 4S, 5/5C/5S and 6/6 Plus, which can be initiated further production.
The application for the above patent was filed in 1994 by Sony. Now this patent is owned by MobileMedia Ideas.
