Microsoft acquired the AI Maluuba

The company Microsoft announced the acquisition of canadian startup Maluuba, which is engaged in research in the field of artificial intelligence.


Commenting on the acquisition, Executive Vice President of the Microsoft division and AI Research Group Harry shum (Harry Shum) noted that Maluuba is working on a system of artificial intelligence that can think and communicate as well as we do, people.



Developments Maluuba and specialists of this team should also help Microsoft improve speech recognition. Improvements and new technologies are implemented, in particular, the voice assistant Cortana.


The financial side of the transaction were not disclosed.
