Meizu and Qualcomm settled disputes, signed a patent agreement

The company Meizu and Qualcomm sign licensing agreement to use the patents, which put an end to litigation.

We will remind, in the summer, Qualcomm has filed a lawsuit against Meizu, accusing the latter of violating patents related to 3G and 4G technologies. In October it became known that Qualcomm has filed three additional claim to the appropriate authorities of the United States, Germany and France.

The leaders of both companies quickly realized that in the courts they will not achieve success. Information about the signing of a patent license agreement, Qualcomm has published. According to the documents, Meizu has got the license to develop, manufacture and sell smartphones with a modem CDMA2000, WCDMA and 4G LTE. Qualcomm will receive a specified percentage of sales.

Today we published the release schedule for new smartphones Meizu next year, which confirms that in December will be released the first smartphone equipped with a Qualcomm SoC.

A few days ago, Qualcomm signed a similar agreement with the Chinese company Gionee, in August of the same paper was signed with the company Vivo.
