MACOM buys the company AppliedMicro for 770 million dollars
The company MACOM Technology Solutions Holdings, specializing in the production of analogue RF, microwave and other semiconductor products, and the company Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (AppliedMicro), which manufactures products for cloud infrastructure and data centers, have reached an agreement, under which the MACOM will acquire all the shares of AppliedMicro. For each share of AppliedMicro buyer will pay 8.36 dollar, including the 3.25 dollar in cash. The remainder of the cost of each share will be paid 0,1089 shares of MACOM. The listed price of the shares AppliedMicro 15.4% higher than the price at the close of trading on Friday, November 18. The total transaction value is estimated at 770 million dollars.
Within 100 days after completion of the transaction MACOM plans to get rid of the direction of computing, AppliedMicro Compute, which is not strategic. At the same time, the direction AppliedMicro Connectivity complement the range of MACOM. It is anticipated that the purchase will accelerate the growth of MACOM in the market of it solutions for corporate networks and providers of cloud services.
