LG and Qualcomm will work together on technologies for unmanned vehicles
LG Electronics and Qualcomm have signed an agreement under which they will begin to develop technologies and production of components for the automotive industry.
More specifically, we are talking about equipment for self-driving cars. The company established a joint research laboratory in Seoul, which is engaged in the development of V2X technologies, which stands for Vehicle to Everything.
This laboratory will work to improve the quality of automated driving technologies and improving communication between self-driving cars, pedestrians and infrastructure of the city. In the end, it all comes down to improving the safety of unmanned vehicles.
Until the end of the year, LG Electronics and Qualcomm are planning to open another center of research and development on the territory of South Korea.
Both companies plan to lead the list of parts suppliers for self-driving cars.
