Largan has confirmed the development of 3D cameras for smartphones
In September of this year reported that Apple has ordered the new plant Largan Precision camera for their future smartphones.
Executive Director Largan Precision Lin EN-ping (Lin En-ping), in fact, confirmed this information, however, he did not specifically name Apple and iPhone 9. In the latest interview with Lin EN-ping said that the company is developing a 3D camera for smartphones. To go in this direction the company made great interest with which the market reacted to the announcement of the iPhone X, equipped with Face ID.
Chapter Largan Precision, communicating with investors, noted that such systems require two cameras and a laser light source, the use of which can cause problems with heat dissipation. Today it is possible to use lenses with glass lenses, only plastic or solutions such as «glass and plastic» (glass plus plastic, G+P). At this stage, none of the clients Largan plans to use only glass lenses, but many agree on the use of solutions G+P, which took the best qualities from glass and plastic lenses.
