KGI Securities predicts low demand for the Samsung Galaxy S8. New photo of the smartphone

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (Ming-Chi Kuo) believes that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will demonstrate a substantial decline in sales in comparison with last year’s flagship the Samsung Galaxy S7.

The reasons are lack of revolutionary innovations, such as Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy S8 S8+ will still be equipped with 12-megapixel main camera, as well as potentially high demand for the anniversary of the iPhone 8.

There is another important point: in the past year because of the failure and the future of the Galaxy Note7 review smartphones Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge was the only flagship in the Samsung lineup. This year a few months after the release of Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy S8 S8+ on the market should appear in Galaxy Note8, which chip away the part of potential buyers Galaxy Galaxy S8 and S8+.

In the result, the analyst believes that in the 2017 financial year, the supply of Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy S8 S8+ will amount to 40-45 million smartphones, while the Galaxy S7 result amounted to 52 million devices.

The announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected on March 29, and the output of the smartphone, according to the analyst, will take place still on April 21, not April 28 as claimed by rumors.
