Kantar analysts argue that the share of iOS in China declined, but sales of Apple
Analysts Kantar Worldpanel ComTech note that in the three-month period of the current year, ending in April, Android and iOS continue to increase their share in most markets.
In China (the source indicates that in urban areas) the share of Android for the year increased from 79.1% to 83.4%, while iOS fell by 3.8 percentage points to 16.2%. In the US Android’s share has declined from 67.6 per cent to 61.7%.
Despite the decline in the share of iOS in China, smartphone sales, Apple grew up there, occupying 16.2% of the market against 12.4%.
During the three-month period ending in may, Samsung’s new flagships was 8.1% of sales in the United States. For comparison, the previous model last year at the same time took to 8.8%. As for the most sold smartphones in the U.S. during the may period, this iPhone 7 and 7 Plus the total share of 20.1%.
The share of iOS in the U.S. over the first three months of the year accounted for 36.5% of sales, which is 5.8 percentage points more than in the corresponding period last year.
In the EU5 countries (UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain) Android rose to 78.3 per cent, and iOS to 19.3%. The source also notes that Huawei took 8.9% of sales for the same period in the UK, increasing the figure several times.
