Italian tax police have accused Amazon in the amount of 130 million euros
The tax police of Milan has accused Amazon underpayment of taxes. According to estimates by the Italian law enforcement authorities, the company evaded from payment in the country of 130 million euros. It is reported Reuters citing a source familiar with the situation.
The underpayment took place in the period from 2011 to 2015. Amazon income in Italy in the period amounted to about 2.5 billion euros.
The information collected by the tax police of Milan, handed over to the Prosecutor.
Amazon in its statement, rejected the charges of tax evasion. The largest online store said that the income earned in Italy that is subject to tax, was less because of the significant investment of Amazon in the country.
