Intel will begin the pilot production according to the norms of 7 nm this year
Intel has announced its intention to launch the test production of processors for standards 7-nanometer process this year.
According to representatives Intel, the new technological process is the testing phase. And the results of test production will help them to draw conclusions and to invest in the construction of large production lines, which will begin mass production of new semiconductor products.
The new processors will be less modern solutions, they will be more energy efficient. In addition, Intel plans to use in their future processors new materials, including gallium nitride. This will allow the laptops with these processors to reach a new level of autonomy.
Previously, TSMC announced plans to start production according to the norms of 7 nm in 2018. At the same time plans to start production of a new single-chip systems with the use of 7-nanometer process technology and Samsung.
