Intel releases Movidius Neural Compute Stick — accelerator AI format the flash drive
Intel has introduced a product called Movidius Neural Compute Stick. According to the manufacturer, this is the first miniature device with a USB connection that implements the technology of deep learning neural networks and equipped with the appropriate accelerator.
The novelty is addressed to a wide circle of developers, researchers and manufacturers. It allows to reduce the barrier to entry for the development, configuration and deployment of AI applications.
The Neural basis of Movidius Compute Stick is the Myriad 2 processor, well suited for these tasks.
In creating applications that run on the principles of artificial intelligence, we can distinguish two fundamental stages: training of the algorithm on a large data set and using the algorithm in application to the interpretation of real data. The second step in the target device, not in the cloud provides a gain, in terms of delay, energy cost, and data security.
Price Movidius Neural Compute Stick Is $79.
