Intel is going to complement the HTC Vive headset six cameras

One of the staff Intel has published the following image, providing it with a commentary, from which it is clear that the ledge on the HTC Vive headset, resembling the horn of a Rhino, allows to obtain depth data of the scene.

«Horn», probably built on the same principle as the camera surround vision with Intel RealSense, allows you to track hand movements and to determine distances to surrounding objects. It has six cameras.

While we are talking about the prototype. When the device will be available for third-party developers and consumers is unknown.
