Intel and Samsung has supported the FTC in a lawsuit against Qualcomm

In January, the Federal trade Commission (FTC) has filed a lawsuit against Qualcomm, accusing it of anti-competitive behavior. According to the FTC, in the period from 2011 to 2016, Qualcomm illegally became the exclusive supplier of modems for Apple mobile devices, offering this company’s patent licensing at a discount.

Competitors Qualcomm in the face of Intel and Samsung this week expressed its agreement with the FTC, alleging that Qualcomm retains the leadership position in the market by dishonest means.

According to Intel, Qualcomm «intentionally undermines competition,» oputa industry participants network unfair license agreements.

Samsung claims that its Exynos system on a chip can’t be used by other manufacturers because Qualcomm refused to license the necessary patents.
