In the last quarter to 83.4% of the profits in the smartphone market went to Apple
According to the source, referring to the experts of the analytical company Strategy Analytics, in the first quarter of 2017 83.4% of the profits in the smartphone market went to Apple. A year ago, the figure of Apple was equal to 79.8 per cent.
Operating profit Apple is 30.7% of revenues. For comparison, the Samsung Electronics, competing with Apple in the smartphone market, the figure is 9.7 per cent.
For the quarter, Samsung accounted for 12.9% of total operating profit of the industry.
Industry observers note that Samsung is becoming increasingly difficult to improve profitability and profits due to market saturation, leading to a reduction in its profitability as a whole. According to their estimates, some 300 manufacturers of smartphones, only 10 are profitable.
