In the last quarter, Sony received 16.5 billion dollars in revenue; operating profit amounted to 446 million dollars

Sony today published a report for the second quarter of fiscal 2016, which she completed on 30 September. During the reporting period, the Japanese manufacturer had revenue 16,49 billion. Operating profit amounted to 446 million dollars, profit before payment of taxes — 396 million dollars, and net profit of 46.9 million dollars.

In comparison with last year’s figures over the same period, the income decreased 10.8%. Operating profit decreased by 48.0 per cent, profit before tax is 43.9%, net profit of 85.6%.

Noteworthy is the significant increase in costs associated with the restructuring of the company: 54.7 to 318 million dollars or 481,2%. Note also that the R & d company in the last quarter has allocated 1.04 billion dollars. This is by 7.1% less than in the second quarter of fiscal 2015.

If we consider the change in performance by key segments, revenue Game & Network Services remained at last year’s level and profit even rose slightly. Mobile Communications revenue decreased by 36.6%, but the loss was replaced by profit. Income Home Entertainment & Sound and Imaging Products & Solutions decreased by 13.2% and 25.5%, respectively, but both areas have remained profitable. Income in the segments Semiconductors and Components fell by 13.6% and 23.2%, respectively, with both areas finished the quarter with losses. The losses recorded in the Pictures segment, but less than a year ago. Profitable activities in the segments of Music and Financial Services.
