In the image sensors ON Semiconductor AS0140 and AS0142 integrated image processors

Company ON Semiconductor has presented not the usual image sensors for automotive cameras — AS0140 and AS0142. Typically, the sensors are designed to work with external image processors, but AS0140 and AS0142 equipped with embedded processors, which allows to consider them in the category of single-chip systems. According to the manufacturer, the integration allows to simplify the design of cameras rear and circular view, reduce their size and power consumption.

Optical format sensor type CMOS — 1/4 inch, resolution — 1 MP. Working at full resolution, the sensors support a frame rate of 45 fps. With reduced resolution to 720p the frequency increases to 60 K/S. the Built-in processor can correct for geometric distortions, to perform the overlap and analog (NTSC) or digital (Ethernet) signal. The manufacturer notes the use of adaptive local transformation range, which eliminates artifacts in the images that contain both very bright and very dark areas. The dynamic range of the sensors is estimated at 93 dB. The difference between AS0140 and AS0142 for the front end.

Sensors designed for operation at temperatures from -40°C to +105°C. Evaluation samples are already available.
