In India, the second plant for the production of smartphones Xiaomi
It’s only been two months since the release of information that Xiaomi is negotiating with the Indian government regarding the construction of a new plant for the production of smartphones.
Now the sources said the opening of the plant, which was built in cooperation with Foxconn in Sri city, Andhra Pradesh. The plant area is more than 5200 m2, it has already started to work. After reaching full capacity the plant will produce 2 million smartphones quarterly. The source adds that each quarter, Xiaomi shipped 1-1,5 million units produced in the first Indian factory Foxconn.
Guide Xiaomi has always maintained that the conquest of the Indian market is an important component of the success of the company. In the second quarter, it took third place at the local brick and mortar smartphone market with a share of 8.1%, behind Samsung (28.5%) and Micromax (11.9 percent).
