In a year Intel may release eight-core processors in LGA 1151

We recently learned that the second half of next year is expected to reach Intel Z390. About its purpose the data was not. You would think that it would be replacing the Z370, which will bring some improvements.

But the company Eurocom has published a very interesting note. It says that this chipset will support OCTA-core processors able to execute up to 16 threads.

And all would be well, but we haven’t heard anything about plans for Intel to launch eight-core CPU in this segment. Moreover, six-core processors Coffee Lake just preparing to enter the market.

While in this respect there is only one assumption. In the second half of 2018 will be released processors Ice Lake that will preserve the performance of the LGA 1151 and will be the ninth generation of Core. They again will require a new chipset. Recall that CPU Ice Lake will be made at the updated 10-nanometer process technology. Thus, most likely, decisions of the Cannon Lake, which is the first for Intel to master the norms of 10 nm, but will be treated even to the eighth generation of Core processors will be presented only in the form of a mobile CPU.
