Image sensors OmniVision OV12A10 and OV12A1B designed for dual cameras smartphone

OmniVision has announced two models of image sensors — OV12A10 (color) and OV12A1B (monochrome). These sensors have a resolution of 12 megapixels with pixel size of 1.25 microns specially designed for use in a dual camera smartphone.

The use in image sensors and OV12A1B OV12A10 OmniVision technologies PureCel Plus, which includes embedded color filter (the color filter array, BCFA) and isolation with deep grooves (deep trench isolation DTI), according to the manufacturer, significantly improve the signal-to-noise ratio and to reduce the level of crosstalk.

Feature OV12A10 is to support the phase auto focus (PDAF). The sensor is capable of capturing videos at full resolution with a frame rate of 30 fps. the same frequency is available at a resolution of 4K2K, and at 1080p, it increased to 90 fps.

Currently available study samples of sensors. For serial production the manufacturer intends to begin in the current quarter.
