IDC analysts estimate the spending on IoT in the past year to 737 billion dollars

As suggested by analysts Juniper Research, by 2021 the number of devices in the Internet of things will triple, exceeding 46 billion Experts IDC today published its forecast.

First, IDC analysts estimate the spending on IoT in the past year to 737 billion. Verify that this amount includes spending on hardware, software and services.

Second, in the period from 2015 to 2020, the experts of IDC expect growth of this market by 15.6% per year. With this in mind, in 2020 the market volume in monetary terms will reach 1.29 trillion.

Third, according to preliminary estimates, the largest spending on IoT in the past year was in industry (178 billion dollars), transportation ($78 billion) m in the public sector (69 billion dollars). Consumer segment was the fourth largest, and in 2020 it will be the third, analysts say.
