IBM and Samsung are leading in the number of registered patents in the United States
According to the American edition of Quartz, which analyzed a database of patent and trademark U.S. (United States Patent and Trademark Office, USPTO), the leader in number of patents filed in this year is IBM.
In the first seven months of this year, IBM has registered 5797 patents, an average of more than 27 patents on a daily basis. Second place went to South Korean company Samsung Electronics, which received 4143 patents (19.5 units on average every day). Third place with the big backlog keeps Intel (patent 2064).
Followed by Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and Facebook, the results are listed in the picture.
