Huawei won the title from Oppo, the leading smartphone vendor in China
In the past two quarters the leader of the Chinese smartphone market is the company Oppo. However, data for the first quarter of 2017 indicate that the first place have managed to reclaim Huawei’s.
Huawei, which recently released a flagship smartphone P10 and P10 Plus shipped during the first three months of this year, 21 million smartphones, occupying 18% of the Chinese market. Oppo, improving his last year’s result of 55%, put 20 million devices. Third place with 17 million smartphones, or 15% of the market went to Vivo. Remembering that Oppo and Vivo are owned by BBK, it can be noted that the real market leader is the company.
Research analysts at Canalys note that for the first time in history, more than 50% of the market got three key players. In the first quarter of 2016, Huawei, Vivo, Xiaomi and Oppo took place from the first to the fourth and 42% of the market.
This time, fourth place went to Apple, and Xiaomi was in fifth position with 9 million smartphones.
Just in the first quarter, China had 114 million shipped smartphones.
