Huawei was accused of violating patents related to AVC/H. 264 (MPEG-4 Part 10)

MPEG LA, in her own words, specializing in licensing programs (these programs cover more than 13,000 patents in 82 countries), filed a lawsuit against Huawei.

The lawsuit was filed in Germany. According to the plaintiff, in Huawei smartphones violated patents on technology that is a key standard for the video coding of AVC/H. 264 (MPEG-4 Part 10). Approximately 1,500 licensees have taken advantage of centralized to acquire the right to use belonging to the 38 owners of patents of the corresponding package, but not Huawei. Did not become a Chinese manufacturer to license these patents directly from their owners.

The plaintiff demands to ban the sale of devices and to recover damages caused by the violation.
