A division of Huawei Consumer Business reported that in the first quarter of this year, smartphone shipments totaled 34,55 million units. Compared to the same period a year earlier, the growth of shipments amounted to 21.6%.
As we reported last week, this allowed Huawei to strengthen its position, taking third place with 9.8% in the global smartphone market.
The company notes that in 52 countries in the first quarter shipments grew more than 50%, and in 32 countries the annual growth exceeded 100%. In China and Europe Huawei smartphone shipments increased by 20 and 15%, respectively. In Southeast Asia, growth has exceeded 70%.
In the second quarter of the company’s position should improve thanks to new flagship smartphone Huawei P10 and P10 Plus.
