Headset mixed reality HMD for Samsung Odyssey was indeed better analogues

In a recent post on mixed reality headset Samsung we suggested that the device in terms of specifications may prove to be more interesting analogues. In fact, all turned out well: Samsung HMD Odyssey, that’s exactly what is officially called the device, the resolution of screens is superior to the previously presented hybrid headset: Explorer Lenovo, Dell, Visor, Headset Acer MR and MR HP Windows Headset.

The Samsung HMD Odyssey has two AMOLED screen with a diagonal of 3.5 inches. The resolution of each is 1440 x 1600 pixels, while the resolution of competitors screens – 1440 x 1440 pixels. More and the viewing angle: 110° in comparison with, for example, 95° MR from Acer Headset. The standard refresh rate – 90 Hz.

Samsung Odyssey HMD requires no connection no headphones, no microphone. The sound in the headset answer quality headphones AKG stereo microphones built – in. Also, the device is endowed with sectioname an accelerometer and a gyroscope, compass and proximity sensor, touch pad cursor control, HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.0.

Dimensions and weight Samsung HMD Odyssey 202 x 111 x 131,5 mm and 645 grams.

The novelty will go on sale this year in the United States, China, South Korea, Brazil and Hong Kong. In the US the device on pre-order and bundled with controllers valued at $500.
