Google suspected of tax evasion in Indonesia
Indonesian tax Inspectorate is investigating the activities of the company Google belonging to the Alphabet holding company, in connection with suspected tax evasion. This was reported by a source, citing a senior representative of the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia, whose economy is the largest in Southeast Asia.
«We will investigate because they refused the audit, which, of course, evidence of criminal activity» — leads the source words of Muhammad Hanif (Hanif Muhammad), head of the tax office for special Affairs. Hanif added that the investigation will not begin before the end of September.
Google is not the only company accused of tax evasion. The most notorious case of this kind was the charge of the European Commission to address Apple with a demand to pay 13 billion euros of unpaid taxes.
