Google started the procedure of rejection of Flash in Chrome

Another year and a half ago, Google warned advertisers and content creators that Flash comes to an end, recommending them to switch to HTML5. In may 2016, the company promised before the end of the year to start blocking by default, the content written using Flash.

This week in the Chromium blog was published by the fresh statement on the matter. The company plans over the next two months to smoothly transfer all their users to HTML5. It begins with the fact that the option HTML5 By Default will be automatically enabled from 1% of users 55 stable build of Chrome and 50% beta testers 56 version of the browser. 56 stable version of Chrome is expected in February next year when HTML5 will be active By Default for all users.

This means that the content written in Flash will not be displayed by default and users will have to activate the playback manually on each site.
