Gigabyte and ASRock expect this year to increase sales of server motherboards

The decrease in demand for motherboards has led to the fact that the company Asustek Computer, Gigabyte Technology, Micro-Star International (MSI), ASRock and Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), providing a total of 90% of the world’s supply of these products in recent years has experienced a decrease in sales. However Gigabyte and ASRock lately succeeded, on the contrary, to increase sales in one of the segments. We are talking about motherboards for servers.

During the last five years the motherboard market decreased by approximately 10% per year. As a result, the largest suppliers of these products — Asustek and Gigabyte in the last year shipped only 16-17 million cards, whereas MSI, ASRock, ECS and Biostar — not more than 5 million

Gigabyte has long been working in the server segment, in particular, releasing the Board for Google. It is expected that this year sales of server boards will provide 15% of the income of the company.
