Gigabyte actively undertook the promotion of Thunderbolt 3

Gigabyte has undertaken to promote the Thunderbolt interface 3 to the masses. First, the manufacturer announced that the recently released motherboards by updating the BIOS and all available options for high-speed interface. The list of boards includes models Z170X-Ultra Gaming, Z170X-UD3 Ultra X170-WS ECC, Z170X-Designare, H170-Designare and X99-Designare EX.

Secondly, IBM introduced the world’s first, according to the company, the module with the Thunderbolt port 3, mounted in the compartment for devices 5.25-inch. GP-TBT3 Bay is equipped with one USB-C port 3.1 with support for Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1 one. The first in this case corresponds to the Power Delivery 2.0 spec, that is allows to transfer up to 100 watts of power.

Finally, the manufacturer introduced the expansion card GC-Alpine Ridge, which allows you to add two USB type-C with Thunderbolt support 3, two Mini DisplayPort 1.2 and one HDMI.
