Flash memory Datakey RUGGEDrive uses flash memory type SLC NAND

Company ATEK Access Technologies has introduced a series of memory card format SD, which has expanded the product family Datakey RUGGEDrive with flash drives with USB interface.

The manufacturer emphasizes that the new removable drives intended for use in industrial electronics. In particular, this means that the memory card Datakey RUGGEDrive is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -40 °C to +85 °C. For comparison, a conventional memory card is designed for operation in the temperature range of -25 °C to +85 °C.

Another advantage is the use of flash memory type SLC NAND. Compared to memory MLC NAND, widely used in consumer storage cards, memory, SLC NAND can withstand far more write cycles (60 000 — 100 000 vs 3000). In addition, SLC memory is characterized by higher performance and longer retains recorded information even when the power.
