External storage G-Technology G-Drive, G-RAID and G-Speed got the Thunderbolt 3

Western Digital has announced the release of new models of external drives G-Technology. They are addressed to «creative professionals», including videographers and photographers who need a quick and capacious storage. The difference of the updated models is the support of Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C.

Storage G-Drive with Thunderbolt 3 is available up to 10 TB ($700), and next quarter should be a model with a volume of 12 TB ($800). It is equipped with two Thunderbolt ports and one USB 3-C (USB 3.0). In the case of the G-Drive with Thunderbolt 3 has one HGST Ultrastar HDD size 3.5 inches.

Storage G-RAID with Thunderbolt 3 with volume up to 20 TB will be available in June. And in the third quarter will be added to the variant with a volume of 24 TB, which will cost $2000. Storage includes two removable drive that can be combined in RAID 0, 1, or JBOD. Its equipment includes 3 ports Thunderbolt, USB 3.1 and HDMI 2.0.

Sale storage G-Speed XL Shuttle with Thunderbolt 3 with volume up to 80 TB will also begin in June. Later in the sale will be modification of the volume of 96 TB, estimated at $10200. Store with eight bays for drives can operate in RAID modes 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and 50.

A distinctive feature of the models G-Speed XL Shuttle bay with ev Series adapters up to 72 TB ($7800), which will be available in the next quarter, is the presence of two adapters which are compatible with drives of the series ev.
