Equips MasterCard plastic card with a fingerprint sensor

Biometric authentication eliminates the user from having to remember and enter any codes, at the same time eliminating the risk that such code be forgotten or compromised. Fingerprint sensors are already quite common to find in computers and mobile devices. MasterCard has taken the next step and equipped the sensor plastic payment card.

The presence sensor allows you to quickly and easily confirm the payment. The user no longer need to enter a PIN and sign the receipt. The size of the map is not different from the usual.

Testing of the new cards has already begun in South Africa. Other countries will get it by the end of the year. Of course, the specific implementation dates are dependent on banks and other participants of the process.
