During the year, the market for 3D cards increased by 9.2% and the share of Nvidia decreased from 81.1% to 70.9%

Analysts Jon Peddie Research (JPR) published a report for the third quarter of 2016 relating to the market of 3D cards. According to their calculations, the supply of these products compared with the previous quarter increased by 38.2%, as compared to the third quarter of 2015 — 9.2%.

The distribution of market shares compared to the previous quarter has changed little: the proportion of AMD has decreased from 29.9% to 29.1%,8%, and the share of Nvidia increased from 70,0% to 70.9%. However, a share a year ago Nvidia was equal to 81,8% and the share of AMD is 18.8%.

Specify that we are talking about the plug-in cards for personal computers, workstations, servers, and other systems. The integrated GPU is not taken into account. Interestingly, shipments of 3D cards grow on the background of declining desktop PC market, which declined for the year is 17.1%.
