DeepMind will open the first international research laboratory in Canada
The company DeepMind, 2014 owned by Google, announced the opening of the first outside the UK research laboratory. It will open later this month.
Is laboratory DeepMind Alberta in the canadian city of Edmonton. It will be led by three professors University University of Alberta Richard Sutton (Richard Sutton), Michael Bowling (Michael Bowling) and Patrick Pilarski (Patrick Pilarski).
Besides them in group working in the lab, will include seven veterans of the industry of artificial intelligence. The project aims to make Edmonton’s technological and research centre, attracting a greater number of specialists in the field of AI.
In addition, DeepMind will provide additional funding to support long-term research programs at the University.
