Company DisplayLink showed a prototype of a wireless VR headset with ultra-low latency

Company DisplayLink, specializing in solutions for video transmission over USB at CES 2017 showed in action the prototype of the VR wireless headset with ultra-low latency.

To transfer data to a headset with two displays uses a radio link in the band of 60 GHz and proprietary compression algorithms. According to DisplayLink, opting for a wireless connection provides greater immersion in virtual reality, since a wired connection limits the movement of the user. At the same time, using the wireless channel has an associated risk of delays, which degrade the user experience. The development of DisplayLink shows that this risk can be eliminated.
