Chip Cypress CYW43012 that support Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth 5.0, designed for mobile and wearable devices
Company Cypress Semiconductor has introduced a combined solution with low power consumption that allows to add support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in portable and wearable electronic devices, as well as in products for the smart home. Chip called Cypress CYW43012 and manufactured on 28-nanometer technology, which reduced energy consumption compared to solutions available now in the receiving mode for 70% in standby mode — up to 80%.
The chip complies with IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n. In addition, the manufacturer uses in its description a brand 802.11 ac-Friendly, which indicates the possibility of interaction with the 802.11 ac access points in standard mode.
Chip CYW43012 supports two frequency bands — 2.4 and 5.0 GHz, and simultaneous operation of Bluetooth applications and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.0. Integration in IoT projects facilitates support CYW43012 in the development environment, Cypress WICED Studio. Currently available study samples CYW43012. Serial production should begin in the fourth quarter.
