Chinese manufacturers shipped nearly 200 million smartphones in the fourth quarter of 2017

Assessment Digitimes Research, smartphone shipments to the Chinese manufacturers in the fourth quarter of this year will be 199,1 million units. Compared with the previous quarter, when it was shipped 179,2 million smartphones, the growth of supply will be 11.1%.

In the third quarter of this year shipments were 20.8% more than in the second, but 0.4% less than was recorded in the third quarter of last year. The leader was Huawei with about 40 million smartphones. Second place was taken by Xiaomi Technology, which has shipped 23 million smartphones. The five also were Oppo, Vivo and Lenovo.

A further increase in sales is explained by growth of demand in the domestic market, as well as the annual Christmas sales season, when the users go for gifts for themselves and their families.
