Chinese manufacturers expand production of panels AMOLED, but Samsung Display it is far away

Given the rapidly growing demand for AMOLED panels, Chinese manufacturers quickly build new factories and expand existing ones. According to the PIDA (Photonics Industry & Technology Development Association), by 2020 it is planned to complete construction or expansion of eight factories.

In the list of those who relies on AMOLED, these companies BOE Technology, China Star Optoelectronics Technology, Tianma Micro-electronics, EverDisplay Optronics (Shanghai), Kunshan Govisionox Optoelectronics and Royole.

The total capacity of the eight factories is projected at 335 000 substrates per month, the equivalent of 4.02 million wafers per year. In the PIDA note that even at full load, the power will give the power of the company Samsung Display. It is expected that the performance of the factories of the South Korean giant in the year 2020 will exceed 10 million substrates per year. Thus, in the next few years Samsung will continue to dominate the market of AMOLED panels.
