China Mobile will start to deploy 5G network in 2017, planning to build 10,000 base stations in three years
Well-informed sources report that the largest mobile operator in the world, China Mobile plans to begin deployment of 5G networks in the next year.
At the initial stage will be built seven experimental base stations in four or five cities in the country, they will use frequencies up to 6 GHz. Over the next year the operator plans to establish 20 base stations in several cities and start their commercial use in 2018.
If all goes according to plan, by 2020, China Mobile will have a fully functioning 5G network, which will provide 10 000 base stations.
