Brand Polaroid has again replaced the owner
Company PLR IP Holdings, owns the trademark Polaroid and related intellectual property rights, purchased by a group of investors headed by the Polish investor Vyacheslav Smoluchowski (Wiaczeslaw Smolokowski). He also owns a controlling stake in the company Impossible Project, which produces special paper for old cameras instant photos Polaroid.
In the message concerning the purchase said that the headquarters of the Polaroid will remain in Minnesota, as well as retain the offices in Hong Kong and new York. Moreover, the new owner plans to expand and establish offices in other countries.
The Polaroid company began bankruptcy proceedings in 2001. In 2005 it was bought by Petters Group Worldwide, but to save the company failed. In 2008, it was again bankrupt, and in 2009 went to a joint venture of Hilco Global and Gordon Brothers. Since then, the legend of snapshots earns licensing its brand to manufacturers of digital cameras and accessories.
