Blogger Ruslan Sokolovsky received a suspended sentence for catching pokemon in the temple
Last year, when the world was filled with the boom of mobile game Pokemon Go, blogger Ruslan Sokolovsky went to the Temple on Blood, located in Yekaterinburg, taking up there catching pokemon. Interestingly, the clergy confirmed the words of Sokolowski that he would not hurt anyone, but in a future video with a gay author’s comments someone saw the insult of feelings of believers. The result Sokolovsky detained, filing the appropriate criminal case.
Yesterday, may 11, 2017, the Verkh-Isetskiy district court of Ekaterinburg has pronounced the verdict in the case of blogger. The prosecution was required to deprive a person of liberty for three and a half years, serving time in prison. In the end, the young man received three and a half years of imprisonment conditionally and have to do the mandatory work.
Judge Catherine Sebonac recognized Sokolovsky guilty of inciting hatred (part 1 of article 282 of the criminal code), insult of religious feelings of believers (part 1 of article 148 of the criminal code) and trafficking of technical means of secret obtaining information (article 138.1 of the criminal code). In particular, Sokolovsky «denied the existence of Jesus and the prophet Muhammad» and «gave Jesus Christ the qualities of a walking dead zombie and qualities of pokémon.» The verdict also States that the blogger insulted the feelings of believers «is not only voice, but also motor activity of the face», and «formed the opinion that in Russia there is obscurantism and tyranny.»
No criminal record or aggravating circumstances allowed Sokolowski to receive a real term.
