BlackBerry sued two companies, accusing them of violating patents
BlackBerry apparently decided to go on a track of the patent war. The canadian manufacturer has a huge patent portfolio, but not previously sought to pursue someone in court for their violations.
Apparently in connection with difficult financial situation, the company decided to change strategy. And she began the attack in two directions. The first victim was the telecommunications company Avaya, the claim against which the filed at the end of last month.
The second victim, a well — known company Blu Products, selling U.S. smartphones without contracts. Against this enemy BlackBerry immediately filed two lawsuits claiming that Blu violating 15 patents.
It should be noted that among the patents of the canadian company, and there are those that relate to the Android OS. So if patent wars are a new strategy, BlackBerry, ahead we may expect many more lawsuits.
