Baidu will develop self-driving cars together with Shouqi
Chinese search giant Baidu to develop self-driving cars in conjunction with local operator Shouqi taxi Limousine & Chauffeur.
Baidu will provide Shouqi access to a map service Baidu Map, and Shouqi will help in creating high-precision maps for self-driving cars.
In addition, Baidu will participate in the project hardware and software tools necessary to navigate with the use of artificial intelligence technologies.
The company Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur belonging to the state Shouqi group of companies, operates in more than 50 cities in China.
Two weeks ago it became known that partner with Baidu for the production of unmanned vehicles selected company BAIC. The partners expect to start serial production of unmanned vehicles of the third level in 2019, and the fourth level in 2021.
