Baidu raised $1.5 billion for the development of automated driving technologies
Chinese search giant Baidu announced the establishment of a Fund of self-driving Apollo Fund that will help Chinese manufacturers to compete more effectively with American companies. Over the next three years, Apollo Fund will allocate more polutrilliona $ 100 different startups that are engaged in unmanned vehicles.
Simultaneously, Baidu released a new generation software Apollo 1.5 open source, which can freely use of company working in this direction. Baidu previously worked on automated driving technologies on their own, but in April of this year the company decided to make its design open.
ACCORDING to Baidu Apollo should allow to create a fully self-driving cars that need to go to the streets of China in 2020.
Since July this year, the number of Baidu partners from the automotive industry increased from 50 to 70 companies.
