At Hitachi we’ve taught the vehicle to adhere to the chosen lanes, even if the markup is not visible

Hitachi Automotive Systems announced the development of technologies that enable the Autonomous vehicle to accurately determine its location on the road, even if the markup for some reason is not visible.

Development called Lane Mark Fusion allows you to deal with situations when the camera is observing a moving transport and the environment, may not recognize lanes, for example, due to bad weather.

The principle of operation of Fusion Lane Mark based on the use of previously stored images from the cameras, which is selected from memory on the current coordinates received by the GPS receiver. This allows the vehicle to follow the lane, even if the markup is not visible.

Development was presented at the FISITA 2016, dedicated to automotive technologies, which this week takes place in South Korea.
