Asustek lowers its forecast for deliveries of smartphones
The company Asustek Computer has reduced its forecast for shipments of smartphones for the entire year of 2016 to 25 million units. The previous forecast made by Asustek in February amounted to 30 million smartphones.
Sources claim that the reason lies in the constant growth of competition from particularly Chinese and Indian manufacturers. In addition, Asustek does not adhere to the established plan to release new models.
The main objective of the company is to make a profit, not access to a large volume of supplies. This statement was made Executive Director of Asustek Jerry Chen (Jerry Shen) at the last meeting with the shareholders of the company.
In the first half of the year, the company managed to ship eight million smartphones. Analysts believe that the total for the year, Asustek will be able to put a little more than 20 million smartphones that are not running and correct the plan.
