Asustek, HTC and Acer will not be able to carry out the plan of shipments of smartphones this year
As observers reported that Taiwan’s largest manufacturers of smartphones, Asustek, HTC and Acer will not be able to fulfill its plans to supply that were installed for that calendar year.
Asustek planned to ship 25 million smartphones, however, due to low demand in all regions of the world, including USA, Europe and China, the actual delivery should be around 20 million devices. Also the result was affected by the delay of the ZenFone series 3.
Asustek prospects for the coming year also look not too bright, will affect the further growth of competition from Chinese and Indian manufacturers.
Last year HTC sold 18 million smartphones, behind Asustek’s lead in the local market. This year shipments of mobile devices, the company should make about 10-12 million units. The sales of smartphones of the company also declined in all key regions of the world. The source believes that HTC will be able to rectify the situation next year.
Acer needs to put at least 5 million smartphones, that is twice less than the previous year. In 2017, the trend will continue.
