Apple to build Nevada solar one power plant 200 MW
Over the last few years Apple has been actively investing in renewable energy and cares about the environment.
Yesterday it was announced the agreement between Apple and the energy company NV Energy agreement, under which Apple will place in Nevada, the US, solar PV power plant 200 MW.
This facility will generate energy, which is used to operate the data center Apple is located in Reno. Apple is planning to allocate up to 5 MW of electricity for the needs of NV Energy.
Commenting on the announcement, Apple’s Vice President Lisa Jackson (Lisa Jackson), said that in the near future iMessages, FaceTime, Siri and other services in the region will be powered by clean energy.
The opening of a new plant is planned in two years.
